Vice President Kamala Harris once again deviated from her normal voice and proceeded to speak with yet another brand new accent during a campaign event in Detroit.
In the latest instance, Harris appeared to be channeling a soul preacher while speaking about organized labor. “You betta thank a union member for sick leave. You betta thank a union member for paid leave. You betta thank a union member for vacation time,” Harris, the child of wealthy parents of Jamaican and Indian heritage, who grew up in Canada, told the crowd.
Monday’s speech featured the third new accent Harris has debuted since becoming the de-facto Democratic Party presidential nominee in July.
While speaking to supporters in Georgia a little over three weeks ago, Harris spoke with a southern accent. “And you all helped us win in 2020, and we gon’ do it again in 2024,” the vice president declared with a southern twang.
